"YAMATO" reached 2 million audience on January 8th, with the box office surpassing 2.5 billion yen ($23mil.) at the 23rd day since the opening, the fastest in the past 10 years for Toei studio.
"YAMATO" opened in mid-December, reached 1 million audience at 12th day. After that, the ticket sales increased during the 3-day New Years holidays, marking the better per-day sales on Jan. 3 than the opening day.
